Negotiation Training Workshop taking Inspiration from the Spider World
part of the opening events for Spiders! Interconnectedness, Innovation & Stewardship
at the Biodiversity Institute, Room 217 Berry Center, University of Wyoming,
Laramie, WY
12:30-5:00 PM, Friday, 22 September 2017

Sarah Kariko, Research Director of Gossamer Labs LLC and Associate, Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at Harvard’s Museum of Comparative Zoology and Dr. Steve Smutko, Spicer Chair in Collaborative Practice at the University of Wyoming will weave anecdotes from the fascinating world of spiders into a professional training to improve your negotiation skills. Explore how nuptial gift giving by the spider Pisaura mirabilis is synonymous with our own approaches to seeking negotiated solutions to complex problems in the lab, the field, the studio, the workplace and at home. In this training you will learn a mutual-gains approach to negotiation through a series of entertaining and educational exercises and role plays. Join Sarah and Steve and learn skills to help you negotiate more skillfully and with more ease as well as learn a bit about the biodiversity of spiders -- the beauty and wonder of them -- and have some fun!

Workshop is free, but registration is required. Click here to register now
